When You Lose Someone
When
you lose someone,
It's
like a light turning off
When
darkness floods the room
When
the sun's behind the clouds,
Never
to come out again
When
you lose someone,
It's
like summer dying into winter
When
all the green fades into gray
When
the sky is overcast,
And
sorrow is snow that covers all.
But
when the clouds have hidden the sun
And
snow has covered everything
In
your grief you have forgotten
That
clouds don't stay forever
Snow
will melt and, like a river
Wash
away the dull gray sadness
And
the sun, with smiling face
Has
come, once more into the sky.
Tears
at night, in dark, may come,
But
morning sun will dry them off.
And
though someone you love is gone
You've
gained the faith to live again.
